It is my fervent belief that every child, irrespective of race, religion and location, deserves an opportunity to succeed in our world. It is also my belief that, in order to be successful in life, the child must somehow come to possess the following:

“Critical-to-Success” Elements

1. Vision (thoughts leading to specific goals)
2. Internalized “burning desire “ to succeed
3. A sound education
4. Commitment to succeed
5. An evolving set of specific (tactical) steps to achieve the goals
6. Assistance of “village” volunteers to help develop the vision and achieve the goals.

As I write this, I am remindful of two relevant biblical scriptures; namely, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” -- Proverbs 29:18, and “… with all of thy getting, get understanding (education)”-- Proverbs 4:7.
